About Pied á Terre

History

Pied á Terre was founded by the legendary chef David Moore in 1991. Within a year, the Fitzrovia restaurant received its first Michelin star, an accolade they proudly still hold in 2025.

Restaurateur and TV personality David Moore first worked at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons with Raymond Blanc for six years. David’s style is a mix of a relaxed, professional front of house approach that makes everyone feel welcome yet treasured.

You won’t struggle to spot David, he is more often than not spotted wearing a rather loud shirt.

With 52 stars across 33 years, David and Pied à Terre boast the title of longest standing Michelin starred restaurant in London. Despite a track record dating back to the early 90s, you will receive a welcome from David that shows his love of the fine dining industry has not dimmed over the years.

One of the only times David is not welcoming guests at the restaurant is when he is appearing on television. Alongside former mentor Raymond Blanc, David appeared as a mentor on BBC’s The Restaurant, featuring Sarah Willingham as a fellow inspector. The winners of the show were given their own restaurant to run, personally backed and supported by Blanc.
