The Refreshment Rooms
Details
The former Admiral pub on the Rock Ferry waterfront reopened as as a restaurant after lying neglected for 5 years in June 2012, under it’s original name Refreshment Rooms. It was the original Refreshment Rooms for the cross-Mersey ferry in the 1880s. Over the past 10 years or so we have forged a great reputation for good home cooked food at remarkable value for money prices.
The space is light and airy with many original features enhanced by the installation of a chandelier from the Cunard building, light fittings from the Adelphi Hotel and Lewis’s of Liverpool and a solid mahogany bar top which started life in the science block of Wirral Grammar School. The walls are full of period photos of the area in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
