Granny Dowbekins Cafe & Restaurant

Granny Dowbekins first served Cream Teas by the then Butler and Housekeeper of the Rampsbeck Hotel in 1904. Ever since, Granny Dowbekin’s has welcomed the local community and our many visitors alike.

Now owned by the Dudson family which started their Pooley Bridge journey in 2019 with purchasing the Post Office next door. We soon built ‘The Secret Garden’ behind the Post Office starting our hospitality journey. We are very proud to be the new owners of Granny’s.

We still bake our scones, cakes, quiches and pies fresh every day. We provide wholesome food accompanied by alcohol and soft drinks from our newly installed bar in the tearoom.
With the best views of the ‘New’ Bridge and the river Eamont we believe Granny’s is a very special place
